Possible Christmas Airing For The Spies Of Warsaw

David Tennant’s wartime drama The Spies Of Warsaw is likely to have a Christmastime airing on BBC Four.
Polish website www.wirtualnemedia.pl appears to suggest that the series will not be shown by Polish channel TVP1 until some time in 2013, following the UK premiere. The website states:
The reason for the transmission delay is that ‘Spies’ must first be aired on British channel BBC Four. They plan their broadcast only in the vicinity of this Christmas. It is not known in which month next year TVP1 will show the series.
At the Lords Of Time convention earlier this month, David Tennant, who plays Jean-Francois Mercier in the series, said that he thought that it would be shown in January 2013 on the BBC. Originally it was stated that the drama would come to screens next month, and a DVD release of the series is still scheduled for late October.
The Spies Of Warsaw also stars Janet Montgomery and Burn Gorman. It was adapted from the novel by Alan Furst by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais and directed by Coky Giedroyc. It was filmed on location in Poland during the late spring and early summer of 2012.
The UK broadcast date has still to be confirmed by the BBC.
