About the Author
Almost fifty years ago, Ian Fleming, author of James Bond, wrote Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as a bedtime story for his son. Now filling Chitty’s tank with his trademark wit, warmth and sense of story, Frank Cottrell Boyce jumps into the driving seat and takes Chitty into the twenty-first century. He is the award-winning author of Millions, Framed and Cosmic. He is also a successful writer of film scripts and, along with Danny Boyle, devised the Opening Ceremony for the 2012 Olympics.

David was asked for specially by the Fleming family to give voice to the first novel in the revamped series and was interviewed by Lucy Fleming after recording. You can hear a clip of that interview from 2011 here.
Lucy said of David at the time: "We are thrilled that David agreed to read the audiobook. He is such a talented actor and his voice brings Frank Cottrell Boyce’s story to life with a wry humour and great characterisation. Chitty could not have been in safer hands with him behind the wheel!"

The release date for the new audiobook has yet to be confirmed.
