The Radio Times At 90 Exhibition Opens At The Museum Of London Today

The Museum Of London is celebrating 90 years of Radio Times with a free exhibition which opens today and runs until the 3rd November.

David Tennant has featured on the cover of Radio Times a stunning 19 times so far, 12 of which were during his time as the Doctor, only Sir David Attenborough and the Queen have appeared more often!

The exhibition will acknowledge the importance of Doctor Who in British culture and charts the history of the British weekly TV and radio listings publication and its close association with the history of broadcasting in Britain and features some of the most iconic covers since the first publication of Radio Times by the BBC in London on 28th September 1923.

The exhibition makes a special feature of Doctor Who covers in celebration of the show's 50th Anniversary. The show has had a long association with the magazine, first appearing on the front cover in 1964. The Doctor Who section of the exhibition will also feature photos from the Radio Times archive and a genuine life size Dalek against a backdrop of Westminster Bridge to recreate the 2005 "Vote Dalek" cover, declared the most iconic of all time in the Periodical Publishers Association's Great Cover Debate.
