Broadchurch Returns To West Bay - And Hits The Front Page!

The shoot for the second series of Broadchurch arrived in West Bay in Dorset yesterday. The tiny resort with its iconic towering cliffs and golden beaches is as much a star of the award winning series as the cast itself, so it was with understandable excitement that the trucks were seen rolling in late on Tuesday night: locals are anticipating another tourist boom similar to the one triggered by the broadcast of the first series last year.

The return of David Tennant, Olivia Colman and other cast to the area even made the front page of local paper The Bridport News (see above). Series creator Chris Chibnall joked via Twitter, "It’s alright, I think we snuck in unnoticed."

The Bridport News reports that David Tennant, Olivia Colman, Charlotte Rampling, Andrew Buchan, Jodie Whittaker and Charlotte Beaumont were all involved in yesterday's filming, and director James Strong was also photographed on set. Despite some poor weather the crew managed to film some external scenes at West Cliff.
