What We Did On Our Holiday To Screen In Multiple Regions Following Cannes Deals

UK film sales brokers Independent have announced a successful Cannes Film Festival for the new BBC Films / Origin Pictures feature What We Did On Our Holiday.  The film, written and directed by award winning comedy duo Guy Jenkin and Andy Hamilton, stars David Tennant and Rosamund Pike as beleaguered parents on a trip to Scotland with their three anarchic children.

The new sales ensure that fans in Eastern and Western Europe, Japan and the Middle East will be among those able to enjoy the film in cinemas. Deals agreed include Tobis (German-speaking Europe), A Contracorriente (Spain), Smile (Scandinavia), Japan (Happinet), CIS (Premium Film), Lev films (Israel) and Prime Pictures (Middle East).

Executive producer Andrew Orr commented, “What We Did on Our Holiday is both extremely funny and very charming.  I think it says something about the film’s universality that it is being picked up by top tier distributors in some quite diverse territories.  It’s the perfect heart-warming comedy for these chastened times”.

What We Did On Our Holiday will be released in the UK on 26th September by Lionsgate, while Transmission will handle distribution in Australia and New Zealand.

What We Did On Our Holiday
Doug and Abi are taking their three children on a trip to Scotland for a big family gathering. They are in the midst of a difficult divorce, and have asked the kids to keep it a secret from their extended family. But as the inevitable feuds kick in, a completely unexpected turn of events involving the children causes further tensions to rise to the surface. And with the repercussions that ensue - hilarious and emotional in equal measure - the family are forced to put aside their differences and work together or else risk losing what they hold most dear.

The cast also includes Billy Connolly, Ben Miller, Amelia Bullmore, Annette Crosbie and Celia Imrie, with Bobby Smalldridge, Emilia Jones and Harriet Turnbull as the three McLeod children.
