PHOTOS: Meet The Cast Of Gracepoint



Fox have released promo photos showing the cast of their new ten part event series Gracepoint in character. The series, starring David Tennant and Anna Gunn is based on the award winning UK series Broadchurch, also starring David Tennant, and promises to expand on the original with new twists, storylines and characters and a completely different ending. Gracepoint premieres on Fox on Thursday 2nd October at 9pm/8c.

Gracepoint
When a young boy, Danny Solano (Nikolas Filipovic), is found dead on an idyllic beach, a major police investigation gets underway in the small California seaside town where the tragedy occurred. Soon deemed a homicide, the case sparks a media frenzy, which throws the boy’s family into further turmoil and upends the lives of all of the town’s residents.

David Tennant as Detective Emmett Carver



David Tennant (Broadchurch, Doctor Who) plays Emmett Carver, a police detective who has just arrived in the Northern Californian town of Gracepoint to fill a high position in the town’s police force. He is leading the investigation into Danny's death, and has his own shady past.


Anna Gunn as Ellie Miller



Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad) plays Ellie Miller, a local detective who had been promised the job that went to Emmett carver.In light of the tragedy, she must put any resentment aside and work the case with her prickly new boss.


Josh Hamilton as Joe Miller



Josh Hamilton (American Horror Story) plays Ellie's doting husband Joe.


Jack Irvine as Tom Miller



Canadian newcomer Jack Irvine plays Ellie's son Tom. Tom was murder victim Danny's best friend, but the boy seems to have something to hide


Michael Peña as Mark Solano



Michael Peña (End Of Watch) plays Danny's father Mark. Mark is the local plumber and known and respected by all - but where was he on the night of his son's death?


Virginia Kull as Beth Solano



Virginia Kull (Boardwalk Empire) plays Danny's mother Beth. Beth is consumed by grief and guilt at the loss of her son and suspects everyone.


Madalyn Horcher as Chloe Solano



Newcomer Madalyn Horcher plays Danny's smart and sassy older sister Chloe. Unbeknownst to her parents she has an older boyfriend, Dean.


Kendrick Sampson as Dean Iverson



Kendrick Sampson (The Vampire Diaries) plays Dean Iverson, Chloe's secret boyfriend. Dean has plans to go to college and works shifts at his uncle's restaurant to raise the cash.


Nick Nolte as Jack Reinhold



Golden Globe winner Nick Nolte (Luck) plays Jack Reinhold, a private and stubborn man who runs the kayak rental service on the beach, as well as the local wildlife observation program, for which Danny volunteered.


Jacki Weaver as Susan Wright



Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook) plays Susan Wright, another newcomer to town. An unpleasant and mysterious woman, she lives in the RV park near the coast, with her dog. 


Kevin Rankin as Paul Coates



Kevin Rankin (Justified) plays the town's minister Paul Coates who becomes the de facto spokesperson for the community as the media descends on Gracepoint.


Sarah-Jane Potts as Gemma Fisher



UK star Sarah-Jane Potts (Kinky Boots) plays Gemma Fisher, the local hotel owner who feels harshly the decline in visitors following the murder. A vivacious Brit, she has secrets of her own.


Stephen Louis Grush as Vince Novik



Stephen Louis Grush (Lucky 7) plays Vince Novik, an apprentice at Mark's plumbing company and a family friend of the Solano's. Vince has debts and a sick mother to look after.


Kevin Zegers as Owen Burke



Canadian actor Kevin Zegers (Transamerica) plays Owen Burke, the town's local newspaper reporter whose ambitions are given a boost when a nationally important story breaks in his own town. Owen is Ellie's nephew, and his desire to get his big scoop lands them both in trouble.


Jessica Lucas as Renee Clemons



Jessica Lucas (Cloverfield) plays Renee Clemons, a reporter for the San Francisco Globe. She arrives in Gracepoint to cover the murder case and strikes up a relationship with Owen Burke. he also has a history with Emmett Carver.


Produced by Shine America in association with Kudos and Imaginary Friends, Gracepoint is executive-produced by Anya Epstein, Dan Futterman, the original series’ creator, Chris Chibnall, Kudos’ Jane Featherstone, John Goldwyn and Shine America’s Carolyn Bernstein. Futterman and Epstein serve as showrunners. Chibnall wrote the premiere episode, and directors include James Strong, Michael Slovis and Euros Lyn.
