VOTE NOW: David Tennant Shortlisted In The TV Choice Awards

David Tennant has been shortlisted as Best Actor in the 2014 TV Choice Awards. He was nominated for his thrilling performance in the three part legal drama The Escape Artist (BBC One).

In The Escape Artist David starred as unbeatable defence barrister Will Burton whose perfect life is changed forever when he takes on the case of the suspect in a brutal murder case. Sadly neither The Escape Artist itself nor David's co-star Ashley Jensen made it through to the Best New Drama and Best Actress shortlists.

David picked up the Best Actor prize last year for the role of DI Alec Hardy in Broadchurch. This year he faces tough competition in the form of  Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock), Allen Leech (Downton Abbey) and Bradley Walsh (Law & Order: UK).

Other nominees making the shortlist vote include Derek for Best Comedy, The Musketeers as Best New Drama and Sarah Lancashire as Best Actress.

Voting is now open and votes can be placed from fans worldwide up until midnight BST on Friday 18th July.

The TV Choice Awards, now in their 18th year, are the only major awards wholly voted on by TV viewers themselves. The winners will be announced live from The London Hilton on Park Lane on Monday 8th September. Although the ceremony is not televised you can keep up with all the action online by following @TVChoice on Twitter and the hashtag #tvcawards.
