David Tennant On Co Star Billy Connolly: "I grew up with his live shows and learned a few naughty words from him"

David Tennant has been telling Total Film about the reasons he decided to sign up for his new comedy film What We Did On Our Holiday.

The film sees David playing a dad of three who is going through a bitter divorce, but who is desperately trying to put on a united front with his soon to be ex wife, played by Rosamund Pike, for the sake of their family.

David admits that as well as the plot,  playing the son of Billy Connolly in the film was a big incentive in taking part:
“I think the way the film portrays raising children and just family life in general, is quite believable, and of course, there was also the chance to work with Billy. Growing up in Scotland he loomed large. I grew up with his live shows and learned a few naughty words from him.”

What We Did On Our Holiday is in UK cinemas from 26 September.
