David Tennant appeared briefly on a short feature on his new show Gracepoint on ET Canada last night. The clip, which mainly focused on two of his Canadian co-stars Jessica Lucas and Kevin Zegers, also included a clip of David explaining why he chose to appear in Gracepoint after starring in original series Broadchurch in the UK in essentially the same role.
The clip, which plays only in Canada, can be seen here, but for the benefit of those outside the region, David said,
"I was fairly confident that this was a story that was worth telling. I knew that some of the same people, the writer himself and some of the other people, who so brilliantly curated that original show would be involved in Gracepoint, so I thought I wanted to be one of them too really."
Gracepoint premieres on the Global Network in Canada and on Fox in the USA on Thursday 2nd October at 9pm ET/PT. It will also air on the Universal Channel in Australia from Friday 3rd October. A UK broadcast date is expected from ITV soon.
A brand new ten-part event series from Fox TV, Gracepoint is based on the award-winning Broadchurch, although the remade version promises new twists and suspects and a different ending. David Tennant is joined by Anna Gunn, Nick Nolte and Jacki Weaver as well as Jessica Lucas and Kevin Zegers.
