GERMANY: Broadchurch Season 2 To Begin On ZDF In April

Free-to-air channel ZDF have announced that they will premiere the second season of Broadchurch in Germany from Sunday 3rd April. The follow up to the award-winning UK drama starring David Tennant and Olivia Colman was originally shown in January 2015 on ITV.

The new season sees many familiar faces return, including David Tennant, Olivia Colman, Arthur Darvill, Andrew Buchan and Jodie Whittaker. They are joined by a host of new characters played by Eve Myles, James D'Arcy, Charlotte Rampling and Marianne Jean-Baptiste, among others. The series finds the residents of Broadchurch anxiously awaiting the sentencing in court of Danny's killer, only for a last minute twist to reopen old wounds. Meanwhile an old case returns to haunt DI Hardy and he enlists Ellie Miller to help him.

Season 2 of Broadchurch will air in double episodes on ZDF on Sunday nights from 22.00 starting from 3rd April.

A third season of Broadchurch goes into production in May for broadcast on ITV during 2017.
