NEW FILM PROJECT: David Tennant To Star As Villain In Bad Samaritan

David Tennant may be known for fighting crime on screen as Detective Alec Hardy in Broadchurch (the final series is currently in production), but next year will see him on the other side of the law in a brand new film project. David will be taking on the role of the villain in the drama Bad Samaritan, directed by Dean Devlin, the producer / director of TV series The Librarians.

The movie, produced by Devlin's own company Electric Entertainment, centres on two young car valets who use their business as a front to burgle the houses of their customers. All is going to plan until they pick the wrong house...

Bad Samaritan is written by Brandon Boyce and is co-produced by Marc Roskin and Rachel Olschan. It is set to begin shooting around Greater Portland, Oregon later this year. Dean Devlin, who also produced the Independence Day movies, said of the project, “I’m a huge fan of David’s work. I’m overjoyed at the opportunity to work with him. Brandon’s script had me on the edge of my seat. Tennant’s intensity is a perfect match for this material.”

David is also set to begin shooting Daisy Aitken's latest project, the romantic comedy Fish Without Bicycles, which is scheduled to go into production this autumn.Earlier this year he completed work on Mad To Be Normal, a biopic of the maverick psychiatrist RD Laing, due for release by the end of the year.
